Heritability of Macular and Retinal Degeneration in Children and Young Adults Print
SUBJECTS NEEDED: Twin pairs or other multiples
LOCATION: Entire NOMOTC membership
PURPOSE OF STUDY: To determine if retinal degeneration is inherited and to establish a blood registry for genetic analyses.

INITIATION DATE: Fall 1994 COMPLETION DATE: Indefinite
METHOD OF INVESTIGATION: Twin pairs or other multiples will be screened if one or both twins have macular or retinal degenerations. Initial contact will be by letter with a brief questionnaire, then a follow-up phone call, and then (if eligible) an eye examination.
