NOMOTC

children, multiples contests of many categories, refreshments, prizes, coloring stations, balloons,
and vendors
showcasing multiples merchandise.
The highlight of the day was a Photo

were photographed. The winning multiples

on the cover of a future edition of NOMOTC’s Notebook. Be looking for the other
families
photos within the pages of NOMOTC’s Notebook or any of our other publications. We
thank all of the families who participated
in the Festival and can’t wait to see where we will
be next year
for the third
annual
Multiples Family Festival.
The United
States 2005 twin birth rate was 32.2 per 1,000, with 133,122 births; a number that has
almost doubled since
1980. That means multiple births in general are on the rise. With an
increase in births, comes
an increased concern regarding the health and well
being of multiple birth children. (Source: CDC)
It's About Us -
The National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, Inc. is
a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of multiple birth children
and their families......
The
National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization dedicated to supporting families of multiple birth children
through education, research, and
networking. In partnering with local support groups, health care
providers, researchers, and educators, and with the highest standards of
integrity, respect and professionalism, we endeavor to aid parents of multiples
and to raise public awareness of the unique qualities of multiple birth
families.
In support of our mission, NOMOTC is proud to announce the second annual National Multiple Birth Awareness (MBA) Month which
will be held in April 2010. Once again will be working with our clubs
in planning local and national events in support of educating our
communities about the wonderful world of multiples; and to spread the
word about the support groups and networks existing today which can
provide ongoing support.
It's About You -
Each of you - local support groups, educators, medical
professionals, and media personnel -
play a critical role in this endeavor.
During April 2010, we are asking that you involve your local community
by planning events to raise the awareness of multiple births while celebrating
these special individuals and their families.
Our 2010 goal is to double the number of clubs that share their
local events and celebrations with other clubs on our MBA website.
NOMOTC has put together this Multiple Birth Awareness Kit to
help you get started. It includes event
ideas, press releases, flyers, and communications that can be used in planning
and executing your local awareness efforts.
No event is too small and many events can come together to make a
lasting impact.
- Join us in April April 2010 and help create
an
awareness that lasts a lifetime, and start a
tradition for years to
come.
